Starting on Monday March 10th, 2025 You can register you phone number with The Northeast GA Weather Centers SWAT-Program. "Exciting news! The Northeast GA Weather Center, in our continued commitment as NWS Weather-Ready Nation Ambassadors, is launching SWAT (Severe Weather Alert Text) this APRIL! But you can register starting tomorrow!

We understand that timely access to severe weather alerts is crucial. SWAT allows us to deliver critical updates directly to your mobile device via SMS, ensuring you're informed even when you're not actively monitoring our social media channels.

This initiative reflects our dedication to collaborating with the National Weather Service and developing innovative ways to reach residents across Northeast GA and the Southeast. By providing real-time alerts, we're enhancing warning lead times and empowering our community to take proactive safety measures.

While the SWAT-Program is currently only available to residents of Northeast GA. We do have future plans to expand this program across the Southeast as our team continues to grow.
